Year 3 and Year 4

Building confidence, growing independence and discovering new possibilities!

Hazel Class is a welcoming, positive and supportive learning environment where children are encouraged to develop their confidence, deepen their understanding and take increasing ownership of their learning.

As part of our small school family at Bosley St Mary's, Hazel provides opportunities for children to learn together, support one another and develop the skills they need to become confident, enthusiastic learners.

Learning in Hazel

In Hazel Class, we build on children's strong foundations in reading, writing and mathematics, helping them develop greater fluency, understanding and independence.

We encourage children to think carefully, ask questions, explain their ideas and develop their confidence when tackling new challenges.

Through purposeful teaching, practical activities and opportunities to work both independently and collaboratively, children are supported to make connections in their learning, develop their problem-solving skills and experience the satisfaction of achieving something new.

Our approach recognises that every child is unique, with their own strengths, interests and next steps in learning.

Growing and Flourishing

Hazel Class is a place where children are encouraged to believe in themselves, embrace challenges and take pride in their progress.

We place great importance on developing resilience, perseverance and independence, helping children recognise that making mistakes, asking questions and trying again are all important parts of learning.

Kindness, respect and positive relationships are at the heart of our classroom. We encourage children to support one another, celebrate each other's successes and develop a growing sense of responsibility.

In Hazel Class, we nurture confidence, encourage curiosity and help every learner flourish!

Keeping in Touch

We believe that children thrive when home and school work together. We keep families informed through our regular school communications and encourage parents and carers to share in their child's learning journey.
