Behaviours for Learning
At Bosley St. Mary’s, we want every child to feel secure, included and ready to learn. Our Bosley Super Six are six simple routines that give children clear, consistent expectations wherever they are in school.
Each routine has three easy steps, supported by visual reminders:
Why do these routines matter?
Familiar routines help children know what to expect and what to do next. They support confidence, independence and a sense of belonging, helping everyone take part successfully in school life.
Their value extends beyond lessons. Listening to others, taking turns, respecting personal space and sharing ideas help children build friendships, work together and show consideration for those around them. These are skills they can use throughout their lives.
Together, the routines support our expectations to be Ready, Respectful and Safe. Clear language, visual prompts and additional support help every child participate.
How do we develop them?
The routines are explicitly taught, modelled and practised, then reinforced through everyday school life. Adults notice and praise success and revisit the steps whenever needed.
Children help us build and improve the routines too. Their ideas and experiences help us understand what works, make expectations clearer and develop shared responsibility for our school community.
Through these small, consistent habits, we create a school where every learner can flourish.
