Parish News - October 2011

We have had a very busy few weeks at Bosley School!

We celebrated Harvest Festival in church with the Juniors putting on a short play based on the WW2 “Dig for Victory” theme. We had recently replanted our vegetable beds and prepared the soil for the winter season, the children and Mr Barard put on their wartime costumes and worked just as the children of Bosley would have done during the war when the school gardens were turned over for vegetable growing. We have had visits from two villagers who were ale to share with us their memories of the war. Ellen Bailey came into school to talk to the children about what is was like at Bosley School when evacuees from Manchester schools arrived and Angela Shuker came into school with a bag full of German artefacts. Thank you to both ladies who enthralled the children with their stories and brought the topic to life.

In between all this excitement and learning about the War, we had a visit from OFSTED who judged the school no less than GOOD in all areas. A true reflection of the learning that goes on day in day out at Bosley School.

Some events for your dairy to which you are most welcome.

I look forward to welcoming you.

With best wishes
